Fractals Necromancer Builds / [Class] FOTM builds for Necromancer
« on: September 25, 2013, 04:13:06 pm »
=========
Introduction
=========
This is a hybrid build.

=========
Armor Set:
=========
Full Rabid armor (condition damage, precision, toughness) with 3 superior rune of krait and 3 superior rune of afflicted.
(Feel free to try celestial armor because I've been debating against myself on it... celestial may prove to be better just due to the fact that you are doing everything)

=========
Trinket Set:
=========
Full Rabid!
(Feel free to use celestial trinkets)

=========
Weapons:
=========
Scepter/Dagger with superior sigils of corruption and superior sigil of earth... stacking condition damage and bleeding on crits
Staff with superior sigil of geomancy.... stack more bleeds just by switching to your staff tools

=========
Traits:
=========
Spit 10- Spiteful Spirit
Curses 30- Hemophilia, depends on situation: Master of Corruption/Chilling Darkness/Weakening Cloud, Lingering Curse
Blood Magic 30- Bloodthirst, Mark of evasion, Vamparic precision

Trait explanation below on how to play this build
=========
Skills:
=========
Must have Plague Form
Depends on situation: Well of Power, Well of Corruption, Well of Suffering, Well of Darkness, Blood is Power, Epidemic, Signet of the Lotus, Signet of Undeath, plague signet, Spectral Walk

=============
Playing this build:
=============
You are not a full blown DPS and probably have to sacrifice too much to be one!! You are a utility that can save party members, cause lots of mobs in an area to fail miserably/die faster, who can tank in right moments with lots of damage mitigation when combining things properly, and provide some form of damage while reviving down/dead party members. You do things that can't be done by other classes and that is manipulating conditions. Playing a necromancer means adapting towards your group and the fractal situation. If you're not using corruption why use master of corruption? just use Weakening cloud or Chilling darkness, the slow effect while they are blind can make it much easier for someone to avoid them altogether! Or if you're tanking more often than not for the party weakening cloud can compound onto the retaliation from spiteful spirit so that you take less damage thus making you more "tanky". Leaving a mark of blood on dodge means that you can regen your group and yourself while bleeding the enemy. Vamparic precision is to reward your criticals with some hp and bloodthirst enhances this reward. You have a chance to stack 3 bleeds with 1 scepter attack at best. When you plague form your CURRENT hp is doubled and you get a huge toughness boost making you one heck of a condition causing tank for the duration. Standing on top of a well during plague form makes you even more scary towards the mobs with the cripple and blind + bleeds that is constantly spammed. But wait! You still have skill 2-5 on scepter + dagger AND your staff skills!

Trait explanation.
spiteful spirit- retailiation for 3s entering deathshroud = damage mitigation why not!
Hemophilia- Longer bleeds
================
depends on situation:
Master of Corruption- faster cooldown on corruption skills
Chilling Darkness- Chill on blood! this becomes nasty with Well of Darkness! 10s of blind and chill on them + you have lots of other blind skills
================
Lingering Curse- longer conditions via scepter
Bloodthirst- gain more hp on siphon to make the mitigation better.
Mark of evasion- leave a mark of blood on where you land after a dodge. Regen for party members and bleed on foes use well and your dodge becomes that much better!
Vamparic precision- siphon hp on crit to help mitigate damage.

=====================================================================================
Explanation on how your skill kit helps use them well and be the guy who makes a difference.
Scepter 2 skill is an aoe cripple + bleed using it for it's crippling effect can save people from boss/champions/etc! they move slower so their melee is delayed making it that much easier to react!
Scepter 3 skill is great it gets life force based on # of conditions on enemies which will be plenty time it well to get as much life force as possible and use often enough to recharge lifeforce so that you can shroud and mitigate damage! (highly worth mastering)
Dagger 4 skill deathly swarm this is fun... transfer 3 of your conditions onto 3 foes and blind them! Use well to mitigate stuff and make it worse for them :) especially if you are using plague signet :D
Dagger 5 is an aoe weakness + bleed: more damage mitigation keep everyone going in fights!

Staff 1 skill = life force piercing hit a nice way to lure enemies + get life force for deathshrouds :)
Staff 2 skill = Regen on any allies on it and bleed on enemy helps in that fight of attrition and keeping hp at healthy levels
Staff 3 skill = chill and poison, ok sure posion is not so great in pve but the chill can save your teammates and you!
Staff 4 skill = transfer conditions onto foes! this is amazing just transfer all that **** on you back at them :D
Staff 5 skill = terror. enough said scare them away to save your party members and keep you up

Plague form 1 skill = poison + bleed
Plague form 2 skill = poison + blind = make all of them hit less for damage mitigation!
Plague form 3 skill = poison + cripple + weakness = Save your allies and even yourself!

Deathshroud 1 skill = damage increases with closeness
Deathshroud 2 skill = gap closer to chill and bleed a for perfect for combo starting
Deathshroud 3 skill = make the flee via fear lasts longer the closer they are!
Deathshroud 4 skill = damages and steal life force! Keep up that life force you need to be able to enter deathshroud after it recharges faster!
Deathshroud 5 skill = put torment on them so that when they move they get hurt!

====================================
Examples of what skills should be in your utility bar on what fractal coming up.

Hello everyone!
My name is Etaf, you can also read it backwards and call me that if you prefer whichever is easier I will respond to both :P

I am a 21 year old college student studying electrical engineering, college being college and I rather not suffer in my classes means that my time is limited and unpredictable at best. My online hours will definitely  be on the weekends with my weekdays on to just clear dailies and if I have time fit in a quick dungeon run (fractal may take too long on week day for me :O).

I hope to enjoy running fractals with all of you soon!

FOTM Suggestions / Idea
« on: September 08, 2013, 12:26:22 am »
Inspiration: This part of the forum seems most relevant to my idea which I want to propose and have an open discussion on. My strong desire that brought about this idea was from a bitter experience of mine where my main character is a necromancer and I would often get dropped/kicked and even in 1 case was used to clear trash mobs just to get kicked before boss for some other guy (I learned of this cause my friend happened to be in the same party and he told me). From then I've had created a warrior just so that I can do runs.

Idea
My current idea is to have profession guides on this part of the forums to help for Fractal runs that are created/contributed by members who have experience in the profession.
This is to aid newer members both to learn from the experienced runners and adapt it to make it better or just use it as is rather than being lost and asking around waiting for an answer from a reliable source. In addition others can read these guides so to understand what another player brings to the party when they choose a certain profession. I hope it will bring variety towards parties created and make much more interesting runs and heck open everyone's mind towards other builds!

Example of idea
I will use necromancer as an example. The famous or infamous "Well of Power" which converts conditions on necromancer and allies to boons and "Well of Darkness" which blinds on pulses. When to use them and when some other skills are better during what fractals I can't really say due to my own lack of experience. However, on the cliff side fractal where all those cultists throw vulnerabilities at you... 25 stacks of it after awhile... yeah well turn that to protection and the well of darkness to make up for the well of power down time. There we go 2 utilities used where some necromancers hoping to bring more dps would have used "blood is power" and "epidemic" to spread the conditions to kill the cultists is mass. Not saying that the necromancer who brought that condition damage spread is wrong but rather I want them to know that they can bring other things from their skill bar that may potentially be better or life saving even. After all no other class can easily convert conditions to boons the way a necromancer can. Even throwing in signet of the locust for mobility in combat or at what stages to use spectral walk or some other skill that can be combat changing and turn ugly situations for the better. I don't have the experience with fractals to say myself, but I am sure others do! :D

If people like my idea and agree towards it then heck help start make them :P contribute whatever you know. After all whatever you contribute someone else might never have known/thought of till you mentioned it!

Thank you for reading :)
