Fractals Ranger Builds / [Class] FOTM builds for Ranger
« on: October 18, 2013, 07:59:28 pm »
=========
Introduction
=========

Hi I’m Sarah! Stalvros asked me to post my ranger build so here it is.  I am posting what I mostly use for 50+ fractals. I change my utility skills and weapons tons based on the situation.  I also am usually stuck with certain jobs, hammer... oil... etc.

=========
Armor Set:
=========

I have 2 seperate sets. One is beserker with ruby orbs and the other is soldier. I am a believer that every class should have atleast 2 sets of armor. You never know when a new build will hit in the middle of a run.  For the majority I run my beserker armor. The only time I put soldiers on is when I am doing Shaman or Cliffs.

Trinket Set:

Weapons:

Ok this also depends on the instance you are on.  (see playing this build at the bottom) I suggest having a longbow, shortbow
and axe/warhorn, sword/warhorn

==================
Traits:
==================

Marksmanship -30. I, VIII, X
Skirmishing-30. II, X, IX
Wilderness Survival-10. VI   (This trait is optional based on what you like, howerver when you do shaman you will want to change it to VI.)

Playing this build:
=============

Heal: I always, always bring Healing Spring.  Blast finishers are awesome party heals and we all know that Fractals is one big stack fest.

Cliff Side :Main person on Hammer- When I do this I usually bring Rampage As One, Signet of the Wild, Signet of Stone, and Signet of the Hunt.  Under Marksmanship you can change piercing arrows for signet mastery if you would like.
   -Weapons: Usually I will run shortbow or Longbow and then axe/warhorn to help speed up the party and myself as we run the hammer.

Shaman: Fighting the Grawl Boss-Here you will want your longbow (so that you can push back any feisty grawls) and a sword/warhorn. The warhorn will help if you or whoever is running stones. The added fury is always nice. If you are running you may also want to throw in Signet of the Wild and Rampage as One for the speed boost and stability. If you are not running stones you will want to make sure your dmg is on point. To help with this I usually make sure all my berserker gear is on and run Quickening Zephyr and Sharpening Stone. The sword will ensure that you can alone perma Cripple the grawls trying to get to the captives.

Fighting the Shaman: Here I always throw my knights armor on. You will want to make sure your traits under Wilderness Survival are set to Wilderness Knowledge. You will also want to equip Entangle.  You alone can pop the Shamans bubble even if he is standing right next to a captive. You need to make sure as soon as the bubble pops to Entangle him, then just use a short bow on him. This is really helpful because you can tell the party to concentrate on ads right away. Usually I use signets for this as well.

Swamp: Longbow, throw on Signet of Wild, Rampage as One, Warhorn etc to help run the first part. The 2nd part usually the party glitches. Throw on your Sharpening Stone , Quickening Zephyr and Frost/Sun Spirit for extra dmg done far away. You’re short bow will not work for these glitches anymore.
Harpies: Not much to this, Rampage as one helps with the stability. When fighting the boss with the fan, make sure you bring out two bear pets. They are the biggest and will help shield your party from poison.

Dredge: At the cart, you can actually pull the boss and only the boss without the adds. Stand on the pipes with a bear pet on avoid and use F1 and then F3 after he hits the boss. I usually equip traps and a longbow and shortbow here to help tag things, combined with piercing arrows I usually walk out with 60+ bags.

Let’s be honest, the rangers utility skills are not the greatest but there are a handful you can interchange to get the job done well. The rest of the levels are pretty straight forward with common sense. When you need extra toughness and regen, when you need extra speed etc. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me and I hope this helped.
