Boss Stage - Solid Ocean Fractal / Re: [Debate] No guardian = No maw fractals on 48+

I don't think this is valid at all, with respect to healing. Support is one of those things in the game that if everyone brings a little, it can amount to a lot. And if people bring a lot, then you have a ton. Although not popular, a warrior traited and geared into healing power can heal easily over 3000 HP per shout, and with 3 shouts that over 9000 healing. That by itself might seem not as much for a warrior's high HP, but for classes with lower HP, that's a good chunk of health returned. In addition, Healing Surge also returns over 12,000 to the warrior, which would amount to over 21,000 health returned. In other words, while a warrior can't return all their health lost in that 9 second period, they can return most of it, which means that they are still dependent on other sources to keep that going. This, of course, would just be one high healing power warrior. A second running a similar trait setup would add another 9000+ HP returned, yielding 18,000 to the party, and 30,000 to themselves.
Other classes are in a similar situation, in that they all have the means, if the issue is needing lots of healing power, to return large portions of their health with their healing skill, but are dependent on and can also provide health return to the rest of the party. The guardian is unique in the sense that, even at low to 0 healing power, they can return all the health of the party with one skill. However, that doesn't mean that, with some coordination and properly traited, a party without a guardian is not able to withstand the maw's agony at higher level fractals.
Whether or not this is necessary considering that ascended weapons, and soon ascended armor, will soon be out, is up in the air. However, it's very obvious that the "we need a guardian for ____" mentality isn't valid. This is just one more situation where it isn't. Guardians can make a lot of things easier, certainly, but skillful play and knowledge about one's class are a perfectly fine substitute. At least, a fine substitute for those that have those things.
As a side note, this is an odd place for this particular thread.
